Canal & River Trust
HVM is currently working with the Canal & River Trust engaging with stakeholders of the River Lee on proposed Water Safety Zones. The aim of the consultation is to listen and engage with organisations with a range of interests on the issues, understand current views and review feedback to inform next steps and future engagement. It was agreed in September 2021 to set up the Lee Navigation Forum which meets 2/3 times per year to discuss issues relevant to the Lee River. You can find our report here.
Brooklands Museum
Earlier in 2021, HVM worked with Brooklands Museum, designing and delivering an online consultation process for museum staff, volunteers and trustees as Brooklands plans for its future. The consultation process involved two separate workshops using Zoom, covering different topics – with each running four times - and the use of an online engagement space allowing stakeholders to review materials and comment outside of the workshops. The report will inform the museum’s Masterplan, Master narrative and interpretation strategies over the next months and years.
European Commission
DEVCO/C1 and the Nutrition Advisory Service (NAS) asked HVM to co-produce a three day seminar for European Union Delegations (EUDs), the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement Focal Points, Member States and expert advisers in the field of malnutrition to progress the EU's Nutrition Action Plan. HVM worked closely with the team at NAS to design a programme to create a space for learning and exchange on how to embed nutrition as a critical determinant of a country’s human and social development. The brief was to ensure that delegates left the seminar knowing they had been engaged in meaningful dialogue in ways which were different from traditional speaker briefings typical of how they had engaged in the issues previously. One participant said,
“A new way of facilitating meetings which brought a lot of opportunities/ tools/ structures available to work on and progress in nutrition.”

British Council
HVM has facilitated a number of stakeholder engagement events and away days for the British Council. For the Cultural Skill's Unit the team developed a programme to bring a wide range of stakeholders up to speed with the work of the Cultural Skills Unit and gain a better understanding of the UK sector’s requirements with regards to international partnerships and the internationalisation of UK cultural skills activity.
Economic & Social Research Council (ESRC)
Commissioned HVM to work with ESRC and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to design and independently facilitate a roundtable discussion and write a summary note of the main points made. An HVM scribe supported the work. The roundtable discussion was focused on Improving Lives: the Work, Health and Disability Green Paper published by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). It brought together academics working in the area of disability and health to share current research and evidence about disabled benefit claimants and those with health conditions. The roundtable outcomes will support DWP in its thinking about new research into this area and comments made are being submitted as part of the Green Paper consultation.
Cochrane Tobacco Addiction Group
HVM assisted researchers at the University of Oxford's Cochrane Tobacco Addiction Group in the design and delivery of a large priority setting engagement event . The workshop brought together tobacco control experts across research, policy making, commissioning, clinical practice and the public. The aim of the workshop was to celebrate the group's 20th anniversary and to help guide the future aims of Cochrane TAG to ensure their reviews meet a wide range of needs and are relevant to current trends in smoking.
ProQuest
HVM has recently completed work on a stakeholder engagement programme to identify product development priorities for Proquest Information & Learning Ltd. This included devising a survey and holding a day-long workshop to test academic reactions to the digital use of an internationally significant historic archive collection.
