Pauline Harris
Senior Associate
Pauline specialises in deliberation and public engagement on challenging and sensitive topics. Her background is in cross-cultural social research in Europe, and areas of expertise include climate change, migration and the origins of political worldviews. She’s passionate about deliberation as a way to bring people together to overcome polarisation, disinformation and the threats our democracies are facing.
This week, Pauline is working on a research paper alongside ai@cam, developing ideas from a public dialogue HVM ran towards the end of last year on AI in local government. She’s also been finalising our first report from a set of in-depth workshops exploring Gen Z’s experiences of the transition between education and work. This is part of a youth-led public engagement programme HVM is working on with the Nuffield Foundation called Grown Up? Journeys to adulthood.
Aside from social research, she has a side hustle in journalism, with a focus on culture and politics. She also spends as much time as possible outdoors with friends and family, and you’d want her on your pub quiz team is a round came up about wild mushrooms!
