Grown Up? Transitions to Adulthood

Paid Opportunity: An invitation to join the Youth Insight Group (YIG) for the Nuffield Foundation’s Grown Up? Transitions to Adulthood programme

Hopkins Van Mil (HVM) and the Nuffield Foundation want to ensure that important decisions about what matters in society always consider the views and experiences of children and young people.

Together, they are creating a Youth Insight Group (YIG) to help shape and inform an important research and engagement project called Grown Up? Transitions to Adulthood. The project explores the experiences and attitudes of today’s young people (14-24 year olds) as they shift from adolescence to early adulthood.

We need your help: read on to express your interest in joining the YIG

As an active member of the YIG you would shape and inform the Grown Up? Transitions to Adulthood project by co-designing materials, information and plans to discuss key topics with children and young people.

Important things to know

  • The YIG will include 20 young people aged 14-24 from across the UK and with a wide range of experiences and backgrounds

  • The YIG will involve 9 meetings over 18 months

  • Most meetings will be held in-person in London, and sometimes on Zoom. We will arrange and pay for all travel

  • Each YIG member will be paid £12 an hour for their time

  • Each YIG member will be assigned a personal mentor who will provide support and ensure YIG members are able to make the most out of this experience

  • You must be available for the first YIG meeting on Saturday 26th October
